GAFFNEY, S.C. – March 15, 2019 – One of three accessibility-enhanced motorhomes recently launched by Winnebago will be powered by the legendary XCS chassis from Freightliner Custom Chassis Corporation (FCCC).

Aiming to bring greater freedom and comfort to people traveling in wheelchairs or with limited mobility, Winnebago launched its Accessibility Enhanced (AE) line of motorhomes at the 2019 Florida RV Supershow in mid-January. The largest of the three models, the Winnebago Forza 34T AE, will be built on the Winnebago SuperStructure foundation on the XCS chassis from FCCC.

“We are proud and thrilled to help Winnebago launch their AE line of motorhomes - and to truly help make our industry’s products and lifestyle more accessible to everyone,” said Jeff Sather, President of FCCC. “We share with Winnebago a commitment to making RVing an experience not limited by physical ability, which is why it is gratifying to see the Forza AE fulfill that promise; this model allows more people and families to enjoy the outdoor lifestyle in ease and comfort.”

The Forza 34T AE, like the other two wheelchair-ready models in the AE lineup, features a wheelchair lift with controls that let wheelchair users independently enter and exit the coach with a key-fob remote. Other wheelchair-ready improvements include expanded hallways and toilet areas; a roll-in shower with assist bar (folding bench seat available); and accessible faucet controls and adjustable shower head. There are reachable appliances, systems monitor, light and generator switch placement, and a power transfer seat option as well.

"With more than 40 years of experience customizing models for accessibility, we have learned our accessibility-enhanced customers are looking for the same freedom from home that many RV owners seek,” said Ashis Bhattacharya, Vice President, Strategic Planning and Specialty Vehicles. “The Forza 34T AE is ideally suited for Winnebago’s accessibility enhancements and designed to take full advantage of a smooth, well-mannered ride with without sacrificing luxury, space and power."

The Forza 34T AE will make its next appearance at RVX: The RV Experience, a recreation vehicle industry trade show in Salt Lake City, Utah, March 12-14, 2019.

For nearly 20 years, the XC series chassis from FCCC has been continuously refined to be the most innovative, most supported and best performing chassis in the industry. As the first choice of more luxury motorhome manufacturers than any other chassis, the majority of all Class A diesel motorhomes ride on XC. Offering power, space and versatility, the XC is designed for increased GVWR – up to 47,000 lbs. – plus floor plan flexibility through a variety of frame rail configurations.
